“Ohana” means family—but not just the family you’re born into. It means no one gets left behind, and no one is forgotten.
For Darius, that meaning isn’t just symbolic—it reflects everything he has seen and experienced over the years working with children and families in the foster care system.
Starting at just 15 years old, he witnessed firsthand how many children move through life without stability, without consistency, and often without someone they can truly rely on. Over time, it became clear that what many of these children needed wasn’t just services—it was connection, support, and a sense of belonging.
That belief became even more personal in 2024 when Darius became a foster parent himself. Stepping fully into that role deepened his understanding of both the challenges children face and the pressures families experience behind the scenes.
As a children’s trauma coach and behavioral specialist, Darius learned that behavior is often a language—one that reflects pain, confusion, and unmet needs. That understanding allowed him to build real connections with the youth he worked with—connections that didn’t end when placements changed or time passed.
Some of those children are no longer in his home or direct care, but the relationships remain. The trust, the impact, the bond—that doesn’t just disappear. And that’s what reinforced something deeper:
These kids don’t just need temporary support.
They need people who don’t walk away.
Ohana Youth & Family Solutions was created from that place—not just from professional experience, but from real-life commitment.
The name “Ohana” is a promise.
A promise that every child served, every family supported, and every life touched by this organization will be treated with care, respect, and consistency.
Because at the end of the day, real change happens when people feel like they belong.
